Getting here

We are in Località Mezzano, 01018 Valentano (VT), on Lake Mezzano: under two hours from Rome, about forty minutes from Viterbo.

One honest warning: the last stretch is roughly 2.5 km of unpaved country road — and it is exactly what keeps this place so quiet. Any car can handle it, just take it slowly. If you have the slightest doubt, call us and we will guide you all the way to the gate.

We are deep in the countryside and a car is by far the easiest way to reach us: there is no public transport that comes all the way here. For reference, Rome is under two hours away and both Fiumicino and Ciampino airports about one hour and forty minutes.

Arriving without a car is not a problem: for groups, weddings and guests travelling from far away we arrange transfers on request.

Yes — a large private car park, free of charge, right on the property, with room for groups and events.

Staying with us

Eight rooms, twenty-four beds in all, every one of them renovated and surrounded by the greenery of the estate.

On the upper floor of the farmhouse: Monte Calveglio (up to 3 guests, mezzanine bed), La Piana (2 guests, garden view), Monte Caso (up to 4, great for families) and Costa del Lago, the only one with an exclusive lake view.

In the ground-floor annexe, opening straight onto the garden: La Birba (deluxe, 2 guests), Il Fontanile, Il Palombo (superior) and Poggio Pilato.

Yes. The four rooms in the annexe — La Birba, Il Fontanile, Il Palombo and Poggio Pilato — are on the ground floor with direct garden access, which makes them the best choice for guests with reduced mobility, for older visitors or for anyone travelling with a pushchair. The farmhouse rooms are on the upper floor.

The farm’s teaching room is step-free as well. Tell us about any specific need and we will be honest about what we can guarantee.

Very much so. A teaching farm with animals, wide safe meadows to run in, a children’s area and workshops for every age.

Monte Caso, Il Fontanile and Poggio Pilato sleep up to four. Just tell us when you book if you need a cot or an extra bed and we will have it ready.

It is one of the most loved moments of the stay: cakes baked fresh every morning, honey and preserves made on our own farm. If you prefer something savoury, just ask and we will prepare it.

At the table

The restaurant is open every day except Monday, and it is open to non-resident guests too.

On holidays — Ferragosto, Christmas, New Year, Easter — we prepare special menus, but opening days change from year to year: for a specific date it is always worth asking us to confirm.

On the Restaurant page you will find our online booking form: pick the date, lunch or dinner, the number of guests, and flag coeliac disease, allergies or intolerances right away.

If you would rather speak to someone, call +39 0761 422501 or message us on WhatsApp at +39 350 170 3871.

Yes, we offer a coeliac menu, holidays included. We also handle intolerances and allergies with care.

One important point: tell us when you book and remind the dining-room staff when you arrive, so the kitchen can organise properly.

There is always a good choice for those who do not eat meat, and it changes with the vegetable garden and the season: pasta such as bichi all’aglione, cacio e pere parcels with truffle or pumpkin tortelli, fried vegetables and courgette flowers, and the cheeses and ricotta we make ourselves.

Same here: mention it when you book and remind the staff when you arrive.

AgriSpa and the lake

Yes. The AgriSpa is small and works by appointment only: we ask you to tell us your arrival time at least three or four days in advance, to turn up fifteen minutes early and to keep to the slot you booked, because the timings are strict.

You can send the request online from the Experiences page and we will get back to you to confirm.

No, and we would rather say so plainly. What we do have, in the AgriSpa, are three chromotherapy hydromassage tubs — one indoors and two outside facing the greenery — plus a Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna and a steam room.

For open water, Lake Mezzano is a walk away from the property.

Yes: a path starts right at the farm and takes you, in a pleasant walk, down to the shores of Lake Mezzano — one of the cleanest and wildest volcanic lakes in Italy, today a protected nature area.

It is a public lake, not a private beach: ask us on arrival about current swimming conditions. If you are after equipped beaches and water sports, Lake Bolsena is about thirty minutes away.

Good to know

We are a farm surrounded by nature and we love animals, but the exact conditions — which rooms, any supplement, access to the common areas — need to be agreed case by case.

Write to us with your pet’s size and habits and we will come back to you with all the details.

Wi-Fi is free in the common areas and fast in the meeting rooms. In the bedrooms coverage can be patchy: we are in open countryside, and many guests see that as the whole point of a real digital detox.

If staying connected matters to you, let us know and we will point you to the best spots.

Indoor spaces are non-smoking, for everyone’s comfort. Outside you are free: between the garden, the meadows and the terrace over the lake there is no shortage of room.

In our garden above the lake we host symbolic ceremonies, unions and vow renewals, with the setting cared for down to the last detail. We host one wedding a day: the place is entirely yours.

To be clear: the ceremony held here has no legal standing. The legal part takes place at the town hall, and couples who want a religious ceremony hold it in the churches of the nearby villages, a few minutes away. The reception is with us.

Yes. With our gift cards you can buy or give a spa journey, a dinner at the restaurant, an aperitivo by the lake or a whole wellness package with an overnight stay.

You are in Italy’s secret heart, where Lazio blends into Tuscany and Umbria, and almost everything is within half a day. By car: Selva del Lamone 10 minutes away, the Valentano Museum a few minutes, Tuscania and Montefiascone 25, Pitigliano and Lake Bolsena 30, the Vulci archaeological park 45, the Monster Park of Bomarzo 50.

The sea at Pescia Romana is about an hour away, Bagno Vignoni in Val d’Orcia an hour and a half. And Lake Mezzano is right here, on foot.
